Sexually Transmitted diseases
diagnosis and therapies
Venereology is the branch of Dermatology that is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s). In recent years, there is a considerable outbreak of sexually transmitted diseases especially in urban areas, due to globalization, new sexual practices and laxness in precautionary measures. The increased rate of bacterial resistance to antibiotics, such as in the case of gonorrhea, turns the adequate treatment of previously common diseases into a great challenge for both the physician and the patient .
